Speaking in Tongues is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Talking Heads, released in 1983. The self-produced record marked a shift toward a more accessible, funk-infused sound following their darker, polyrhythmic album Remain in Light. It became their biggest commercial success, earning them their only U.S. Top 10 hit, "Burning Down the House," and was followed by the iconic concert film Stop Making Sense.
